Guiding Beacons
The Lambton Heritage Museum sponsored a public nomination program inviting the community to help honour the women of Sarnia-Lambton (living or deceased) for the roles they play in their local communities as well as provincially, nationally and internationally.
The response was impressive, and 74 women from across Lambton County were nominated. From this list, one woman from each local municipality was chosen to be highlighted as part of this exhibit. The eleven representatives come from a variety of backgrounds and have demonstrated strong leadership, overcome adversity in their lives, been excellent role models, are well respected in their communities, or consistently gave of their own time and resources to serve others or a cause.
We would like to thank everyone who submitted nominations for the Guiding Beacons program. To learn more about all the women who were nominated, visit our touchscreen exhibit, which lists all nominated women and describes how each has made an impact.
