Spalding

Alexander Spalding (1792–1861) was born in Scotland. His wife Jean Wallace (1800–1879) was also from Scotland. Being among the early settlers of Warwick Twp., they settled on Lot 27, 2^nd Line in 1850. Alexander took an active part in school matters and served on the school board.

The Spaldings had ten children, five boys and five girls. Their son James farmed the homestead after his father died. Their daughter Isabella lived in Watford.
