Pipe Elevator Clamp 3D Artifact
More
(E2019.002.002)
Pipe elevator clamps were used by oil drillers to pull pipe out of oil wells during a regular service. They are triangular in shape and offset from the U shaped pipe holder. This model is missing the locking flap that would hold the pipe in place. The top of the triangle is where the hook of the pulling machine would attach. This item would traditionally be hand forged and bent by the Blacksmith or made on site by the driller himself to save money and it is made out of iron. This item dates back to the mid to late 1800s.
