Oil Springs, ON - Oil Museum of Canada, National Historic Site, is hosting a Virtual Talk with the Drake Well Museum and Park from Titusville, Pennsylvania on Thursday, August 18, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
The Drake Well Museum and Park chronicles the birth and development of the petroleum industry in Pennsylvania as well as its growth into a global enterprise. In this talk, Drake Well Museum educator Sarah Goodison will share the history of this fascinating site and discuss its contributions to oil history on a global scale. She will also draw comparisons to the Oil Museum of Canada and share interesting insights with participants.
“We are excited to partner with the Drake Well Museum to share the history of their heritage site,” said Christina Sydorko, Education Program Coordinator with the Oil Museum of Canada. “The similarities and differences between the two sites highlight the unique paths each took towards industrial development of their natural petroleum resources. While the two sites might be separated by geography and an international border, they share an innovative entrepreneurial spirit.”
