Lambton Heritage Museum offers screening of The Mighty Ducks for PA Day
Grand Bend, ON – Lambton Heritage Museum is pleased to present another “Movies at the Museum” PA Day event on Friday, October 11, with a screening of the classic hockey film The Mighty Ducks. The screening begins at 1:00 p.m. and families can enjoy free popcorn during the film.
In addition to the movie, families can enjoy hockey-themed activities, including a photo scavenger hunt through the Canadian Museum of History’s travelling exhibit Hockey, a table-top hockey game, and the chance to try sports announcing as a hockey commentator.
“This PA Day event is a fantastic way for families to connect with hockey history,” said Colleen Inglis, Educational Program Coordinator with Lambton Heritage Museum. “The Mighty Ducks is a heartwarming story about teamwork, perseverance, and the spirit of the game. These values resonate with hockey fans everywhere. Pairing the movie with our feature exhibit Hockey is a perfect celebration of this iconic sport.”
The Mighty Ducks (1992) follows the journey of a down-and-out lawyer coaching a team of misfit kids into champions through the power of teamwork, friendship, and trying your best. The movie is rated PG and has a run-time of 104 minutes. Content warnings include coarse language and some violence.
Admission is free for residents of Lambton County in 2024 in celebration of Lambton County’s 175th anniversary. To learn more about Hockey, please visit the exhibit page at heritagemuseum.ca.
