Women Changing Roles

As the years go by, the roles of women in Lambton society continue to change.

The roles, responsibilities and opportunities for women in 2003 are very different than they were in the past. Remember that women in Lambton County in the 1800s should be considered in the context of their wider society, which had different perspectives on the prospects available for women. Expectations have changed drastically since Lambton County's population began growing in the mid-1800s. Those changes in society are reflected in the changing of women's roles and new opportunities that are available to women.

Changes in the roles of women will continue, and in 2113 historians may look back over the last hundred years and marvel at the lives of women in 2013.
