Patricia Davidson
A lifelong resident of Plympton-Wyoming, Pat Davidson is the Conservative MP for the Sarnia-Lambton riding.
Pat became involved in politics in 1980 as Municipal Councillor for Plympton Township. During her career in municipal politics, she was elected Warden of Lambton County for an unprecedented five terms. Pat noted in an interview in January 2013, “I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I was very, very fortunate that my colleagues re-elected me that many times.”
In 2006 after 26 years in local government, Pat took on a new challenge in federal politics. Working in Ottawa and often away from her home in Wyoming, Pat commented that it can be difficult to find a balance between work and family. “I would have found it extremely difficult to do with a young family… it's hard for women (in federal politics) to try to balance a life with any type of normal family relationship.”
