Me, You, and Us - Youth
This art exhibition features the work of 15 to 29 year old youth. Community artist Suellen Evoy-Oozeer shares:
This exhibit sprouted from the original community art project by the invitation of Susan A. Bressette of the Elder’s Lodge at Kettle and Stony Point First Nation in 2017. By community request, the project was expanded to reach out to youth. Art brought young people together from the Kettle and Stony Point First Nation, Aamjiwnaang First Nation, Forest, Sarnia, Port Franks, and the surrounding Lambton County areas. The result was bridges of compassion and understanding. The workshops gave youth a connection to their individual creative source.
Me, You & Us – Youth 2020 participants shared in an Intuitive Energy Workshop. This included art, intuition,
sharing circles, meditation, smudging, tears, laughter, and some even say magic.
The power of art and community is real. It opens hearts, creates friendships, connects people to creative sources, and improves our sense of well-being. Our workshops were cut short due to COVID-19 and we hope to have a chance to meet again.
