Farmerette Stories

In these letters, Farmerettes recorded their memories of their time working on farms in Lambton County. They recount their hard work in the field and the great friendships they made along the way.

These letters were originally sent to Bonnie Sitter and Shirleyan English who collected information on the Farmerettes program. Later these letters were included in their book, Onion Skins and Peach Fuzz: Memories of Ontario Farmerettes. Their book told the stories of Farmerettes from across Ontario.
