Warden Recollections
During the 2010 Snow Emergency, the County of Lambton Warden was Steve Arnold. This was his recollection Snowmageddon;
It was very stressful as a new Warden of the Lambton County at the time. I spent a few days pacing in front of the fire here at home concerned about everyone that was stranded.
The best part of the event was everyone working together to help so many that were strangers and the safety protocols that we had in place worked very well. I was very proud of everyone who did what they could to provide shelter and comfort to others, and do want needed to be done to rescue the stranded and open the County back up so quickly in such an unselfish way. Many were surprised when the Warden came to visit them at the warming shelters, but the weather south wasn't near as severe.
It was also much appreciated when the Premier of the day, Dalton McGuinty called to congratulate Lambton County for safely and proactively working through the Emergency and utilizing the Emergency systems that were established to help in this type of a situation!
