About Heritage Hunters

Heritage Hunters is an exciting new video series that will follow community members as they explore their family history with guidance from our expert archival staff. Each episode documents a unique journey of discovery, connecting past and present through personal stories and historical records.

How to Apply

We're looking for enthusiastic individuals with connections to Lambton County who are ready to explore their family history. Participants should be:

  • Available for multiple filming and research sessions throughout 2025
  • Comfortable being filmed and sharing their story
  • Interested in discovering their family's connection to Lambton County
  • Willing to share their genealogical journey with the public

Program Timeline

Application Period: February 17 - March 28
Participant Selection: Mid-April
Meetings and Filming: May through July
Series Release: December 2025

Frequently Asked Questions

 What is the time commitment?
Participants should expect to attend multiple filming and research sessions throughout the spring and summer of 2025. Specific scheduling will be coordinated with selected participants.
 Do I need prior research experience?
No prior genealogical research experience is required. Our staff will guide you through the entire process.
 What costs are involved?
As a part of the program development, all archival research services are being provided free of charge. Participants are responsible for their own transportation to the archives and filming locations.
 When will the series be released?
Episodes are scheduled to be released in December of 2025.
